Baby It's Cold Outside

So the weather out here has dropped drastically and it is freezing
outside. This music video warmed me up inside for it's adorable
cuteness. I love the lyric changes to make it more Mormon friendly as
well. Enjoy!

Electricity

This past weekend I went and saw a live broadcast production of Billy Elliot from London. It was a fabulous production and the kid who played young Billy did an excellent job with the dancing. I was reminded of a fabulous song that he sings at the end where he is describing what it feels like to dance. He sings it with such emotion and spirit as he dances around the stage and expresses his feelings so well. This feeling can be said of many things that I love to do. When I'm in the temple, when I go to a show, when I spend times with close friends and family, when I visit a battlefield. There are true emotions that are involved when we do things we love. Thanks Billy Elliot for putting some of these emotions into words.

Electricity
Billy Elliot Musical

I can't really explain it,
I haven't got the words
It's a feeling that you can't control
I suppose it's like forgetting, losing who you are
And at the same time something makes you whole
It's like that there's a music playing in your ear
And I'm listening, and I'm listening and then I disappear

And then I feel a change
Like a fire deep inside
Something bursting me wide open impossible to hide
And suddenly I'm flying, flying like a bird
Like electricity, electricity
Sparks inside of me
And I'm free I'm free

It's a bit like being angry,
it's a bit like being scared
Confused and all mixed up and mad as hell
It's like when you've been crying
And you're empty and you're full
I don't know what it is, it's hard to tell
It's like that there's a music playing in your ear
But the music is impossible, impossible to hear
But then I feel it move me
Like a burning deep inside
Something bursting me wide open impossible to hide
And suddenly I'm flying, flying like a bird
Like electricity, electricity
Sparks inside of me
And I'm free I'm free

Electricity, sparks inside of me
And I'm free, I'm free
It's a bit like being angry,
it's a bit like being scared
Confused and all mixed up and mad as hell
It's like when you've been crying
And you're empty and you're full
I don't know what it is, it's hard to tell
It's like that there's a music playing in your ear
But the music is impossible, impossible to hear
But then I feel it move me
Like a burning deep inside
Something bursting me wide open impossible to hide
And suddenly I'm flying, flying like a bird
Like electricity, electricity
Sparks inside of me
I'm free, I'm free, free, I'm free

Interstellar

So movie group was a little bigger this week.  It also was at a different venue than usual. The reason is due to an awesome movie viewing opportunity in the area that allowed us to go to the Udvar Hazey museum that is an extension of the air and space museum. The movie is called Interstellar and is about space travel. And to top it all off, we were going to be watching on an IMAX big screen. I was super excited to see the show. It stars Matthew McConaughy and Anne Hathaway and to my great surprise Matt Damon. It was a great movie with amazing visual effects and the plot twist at the end was intriguing.

Sisters

I just have to say, I love my sisters. I have been able to spend a summer with each of them separately and both were very different and very fun filled summer days.

Corner of the Sky

For the past couple of days I've been listening to Pippin in the car as I've been driving and I have particularly liked this song that Pippin himself sings called Corner of the Sky. Pippin feels lost in what to do with his life as he observes nature and how it all has it's place. He doesn't want to settle for just anything in his life. He wants to seek out something more. I especially like the phrase (highlighted in bold) where he talks about daydreams and goals and how we feel when they stick to our souls. I have to say that I am definitely a day dreamer. I love to dream of things that could happen or that I would like to have happen in my life and they give me courage to want to pursue them. I must admit, I get a little down when things don't happen that I would like to have happen in my life. But that has never stopped me from continuing to daydream and set new goals to help make them come true one day. Thanks Pippin for helping me know that I am not the only day dreamer out there who wants to have more happen in my life.

Corner of the Sky
from Pippin

Everything has its season
Everything has its time
Show me a reason and I'll soon show you a rhyme
Cats fit on the windowsill
Children fit in the snow
Why do I feel I don't fit in anywhere I go?

Rivers belong where they can ramble
Eagles belong where they can fly
I've got to be where my spirit can run free
Got to find my corner of the sky

Every man has his daydreams
Every man has his goal
People like the way dreams have
Of sticking to the soul

Thunderclouds have their lightning
Nightingales have their song
And don't you see I want my life to be
Something more than long....

Rivers belong where they can ramble
Eagles belong where they can fly
I've got to be where my spirit can run free
Got to find my corner of the sky

So many men seem destined
To settle for something small
But I won't rest until I know I'll have it all
So don't ask where I'm going
Just listen when I'm gone
And far away you'll hear me singing
Softly to the dawn:

Rivers belong where they can ramble
Eagles belong where they can fly
I've got to be where my spirit can run free
Got to find my corner of the sky

Happy Halloween

Halloween this year was actually quite fun. My roommates and I had a great time passing out candy to the trick or treater's and helping each other get our costumes together. This year I decided to dress up as one of my favorite Broadway characters (because we all know I love Broadway). If you can't guess than you don't really know me very well. Let me give you a hint, she sings "On My Own" (which I would break out into whenever anyone asked me who I was).

Have you figured it out? I'm Eponine from Les Miserable!!!!! I don't know why I haven't done this before; going as a Broadway character. I'm excited for what I have in store for next year!

Taylor and I became part of the "Friend" club. We both are always just the friend when we would like there to be more. At least it's a good looking club :)

Here I am with my roommates. Sandi the Pirate, Kara as Eponine, Jacob as Jacob, and AnnaLisa the Witch (she made her costume herself and did a great job). We all got our dance moves on at the YSA barn dance where DJ Jesus rocked some great tunes. It was a great Halloween.

Happy Haunting everyone!
